What Causes Dizziness While On Glipizide And Metformin?

I am a recently diagnosed diabetic...type 2. Taking 10 MG Glipizide and 250 MG Metformin in am and 5mg Glipizide and 250mg Metformin in pm. Metformin added 4 months after Glipizide started. Now have dizziness and gastro problems. Am 5 months the post stroke and the dizziness is interfering with relearning to walk. The Metformin is the only change in medication prior to the problems. What alternatives might I have to Metformin? Thank you.
