Do Hemorrhoids Cause Painful Bowel Movement?

My son had a bowel movement this morning and it was very painful. He is five but he cried for awhile because it was so painful so I thought it was hemorrhoid issues. I tried to give him a hemorrhoidal suppository but he cried out really loud because it hurt him really bad. In this process of putting the suppository in liquids comes out like water. Is there something wrong? Please help!

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
Hemorrhoids can cause painful defecation. But, because of his age, I feel he might be having anal fissure which will also cause severe pain. Always try to keep the stool soft by drinking lot of water, eating fiber rich food and bananas. Keep the anal orifice lubricated with vaseline petroleum jelly or vegetable oil.
It is better you show him to a doctor for accurate diagnosis.
Hope this helped,
Take care
