Diagnosed With UTI. Itchy And Swollen Inside Of Vagina. Switch Medication?

Hi! So I was recently diagnosed with a UTI. However I've been doing research and apparently vaginitis is very similar? I feel as though perhaps my doctor misdiagnosed me seeing as my urethra is perfectly fine. I have also had a UTI before and this feels way different. The inside of my vagina, not my urethra, is itchy and super swollen. Is this a UTI like my doctor thought, or should I go back and switch out my medications?

hi..
you have vaginitis, due to trichomoniasis/candidiasis..
see your gynaecologist for the investigation and treatment..
after the diagnosis, you may have to put on antibiotics/antifungal based on the lab report..
the treatment should be taken by both the partners, i.e along with your spouse..
all the very best..
