Diagnosed With ITP. On Prednisone. Last Periods Have Heavy Bleeding With Clots. Diagnosed Genital Warts. Causes Of Hemorrhaging?

I was diagnosed with the condition of ITP about 9 mos ago. I was on prednisone and have been off of it since February. My last monthly cycle I had heavy bleeding with huge blood clots. I am now experiecing bruising on thighs. My cycle isn't due yet, I was also diagnosed with genital warts a month ago could this be affecting hemmorhaging?

Hi,
Thanks for using healthcare magic.

Genital warts usually do not cause increase in amount of bleed.
Excessive menses might be due to
- Worsening of ITP
- Endometrial reason
- Irregular cycle

You should consult your gynecologist for expert examination and opinion. If your gynecological examination is normal, doctor may refer you to hematologist to rule out worsening of ITP.
