Developed A Vaginal Tear. Medicines Given Are Not Effective. Tear Is Developed To Ulcer. Yeast Infection?

Hi,

I've developed a vaginal tear for over 6 months now. Altargo 1% ointment was given but the tear is however not healed as of today.

I consulted a doctor today and was told that I am having a yeast infection. The doctor did examined the tear and mentioned that it has developed into an ulcer. Can I know that if the the tear is due to the yeast infection/thrush? And also, will the tear heals once the yeast infection is treated?

Your comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Dear user, welcome to healthcare magic.
A vaginal tear or ulcer that lasts for six months should be taken seriously. Thorough history and evaluation should be done... Your age, parity, medical history, special habits, sexual life and any predisposing factors should be asked for. A careful examination of this ulcer should be done with the possibility of taking a biopsy for histopathological examination. I advise you to visit an experienced gynecologist.
I hope these words were useful to you.
Good luck.
