Delayed Periods, Puffy And Swollen Vagina. History Of Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Spotting 2 Weeks Later. HPT Negative. Guide
Hi im a bit worried, I am 5 days late for my period. I normally spit for a couple of days before my period starts. I have had no spotting at all and used my finger to see if there was any blood starting inside my vagina. I noticed that it was very puffy and swollen inside with no pain. I could only fit one finger inside. My fiance and I are faithful so I know I don't have an sti. We have had unprotected intercourse about 4 times this month and I had some spotting 15 days afterthe start of my last period (this is normal for me) I have done 2 HPT both negative so I really would like some advice please and should I be worried? Thanks
Hi and thanks for the query, The commonest cause of missed periods in a woman of reproductive age is a pregnancy. A pregnancy test done too early might not give a positive result. I do suggest you repeat the test under ideal conditions. A pregnancy test dine using blood samples is more accurate. An ultrasound could also give an idea of the nature of the uterus and ovaries, giving more insight on the bleeding abnormalities. It is however not rare to experience post coital spotting after intercourse, in case of harsh or traumatic sex. It is however to rule out a pregnancy properly first. thanks and kind regards
