Hi, thanks for posting your query

The following treament may be given for scar reduction:
Tretinoin based cream at night
Dermabrasion or
Fracional laser

For associated pigmentation:
Hydroquinone, tretinoin ,hdrocortisone combination cream
TCA spot peels
A sunscreen with UVA and UVB protecion during the day

If the scar is raised then she may need cosmetic surgery

However the response depends on the duration ,depth and extent of scar and varies from person to person .

You may contact a doctor for examination and appropriate treatment for her

Hope this solves your query

Dermatologist Dr. Tanusree Biswas's  Response
Thanks for your query

The old scars caused by blade do not respond very well to any topical cream/gels applied.
There are certain laser treatments which help about flattening of the scar to a good extent. The type of laser/ no of treatments and the possibility of obtaining a good cosmetic result can be discussed with your dermatologist.
She can start applying products with silicone gels for the scars till she can visit the dermatologist.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
