Cut On Upper Lip In Accident, Required Stitches, Dots Of Blood. Can I Clean The Area?
Yesterday I had a accident where I received a cut to my upper lip which required stiches on the inside and outside of my lip. This evening I noticed among the sutures there are very small dots of blood when I lightly blot my lip. Is that normal and I also have dried blood encrusted around the sutures, should I clean that area?
There is nothing to worry about little amount of blood oozing from sutured site , Its quite normal .. I suggest you to be clean hand before cleaning blood encrusted region with providone solution . If worried , Its safe to reach ER and get cleaned and dressed with antiseptic measures to prevent infection and promoting faster wound healing.
