Could Taking Oxycodone 20 Mg Effect Pregnancy?

Hi I just took a home pregnancy test that came back positive. I ve been prescribed and taking oxycodone 20 mg 4-6 times a day for the past four years b/c of a severe lower back injury. I am going to speak with my obgyn as soon as I get an appt and also my pain management doctor. I was just wondering if this medication is dangerous from your experience. It s not classified that I see on drugs.com. Thank you

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Oxycodone is indeed risky to be taken during pregnancy and I would suggest you to report to your doctor at your earliest convenience. I understand how discontinuation can restart pain and it would certainly be uncomfortable, but it is a case of risk versus benefit here and so it would be best to let youe pain management doctor evaluate and decide.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
