Could Taking Diane 35 And Metformin For PCOS Cause Severe Acne?
I m 26 years old,77 kg diagnosed with pcos.I smoke and drink. I have severe acne and keep gaining weight.should I combine diane 35 and metformin to regulate periods and weight loss? If so, what s the dosage for metformin is safe? I m non diabetic and have GERD.

I understand your concern. Diane 35 and Metformin are usually prescribed in pcod to regulate ovulatory cycles. Since you have severe acne with pcod, Diane 35 may help you control androgenic acne too. Metformin indirectly helps in maintaining body weight in pcod.
Occasionally metformin has few abdominal side effects like nausea etc. which may aggravate GERD that you have. Otherwise it is usually prescribed as 1000mg to 2000mg a day. I recommend you to consult your gastroenterologist to know what dose of Metformin is suitable for you keeping in mind GERD. Diane 35 is relatively safe in GERD.
Along with medications, it is important in PCOD to carry out regular physical activity. This helps reduce insulin resistance and obesity, which in turn lessens the duration and dose of medications required in pcod.
