Could Taking Mirena Cause Numbness In Mouth And Tongue?

I have been on mirena for about six months now. This is the 1st month I have not gotten my period or spotted. Coincidentally, I have been having major mouth numming and sensitivity on my tongue. I have been to my doctor and have gotten several blood tests done. They all came back negative. I was on an antibiotic. That did not help. I went to my dentist and he told me I have geographical tongue. Is this a side effect of the mirena?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

No, having numbness in mouth and tongue is not a side effect of mirena. I think there is vitamin definitely with mouth ulcers so I would suggest a candid mouth paint with vitamin supplements containing lysine for 3 weeks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
