Could Taking Microgyn 30 Pill Cause Pain In Lower Abdomen And Back?

Hi, it is now wednesday and since sunday I have had a dull ache in my lower abdomen. I have also had a slight pain in my lower back and my breasts have been what can only be described as tickly, but nothing major. I do have ibs, though it hasn't been disruptive in recent years. I take Microgyn 30 pill and take it every morning at the same time. On saturday I did not take it until half 11 at night and carried on my pill as normal. I had not had sex leading up to that week as I had my period but had sex on the following tuesday. Could taking one pill later than I should have cause mem problems?

Taking Microgyn 30 can cause some minor effects like abdominal pain, nausea, breast tenderness and pain. These are not serious and not something to worry about. Regarding the missed tablet, if you have missed the tablet and takes it within 12 hours of missing it will still protect against pregnancy. If you remember after 12 hours of missing take it as soon as you remember even if it means takings 2 tablets in a day at the same time.

The risk of pregnancy depends on when you have missed the pill. If it is missed within the first 7 days of starting the pill then take additional barrier contraception as a precaution (for next 1 week). If you have had contact a week before missing the pill then there is a risk of contraception failure and you may consider taking emergency contraception.
