Could Swollen Tonsils With White Nevus Be Due To Strep Throat?
I ve had swollen tonsils with white spots on them for the past 6-7 days. The white spots have increased in number and my tonsils seem to be more swollen, but I feel fine and my throat doesn t even really hurt. My boyfriend was really sick 7 days ago with fever, an extremely painful sore throat, and couldn t get out of bed. He s felt bad on and off for the past week. Could I have strep throat even though I feel fine? Should I go to the doctor or just wait for it to clear up- I read that strep clears up on its own in 3-7 days.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to an infection of the tonsils. It can be a strep throat based on the white spots that you have in the tonsils. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also recommend to gargle with salty water. A cycle of antibiotics may be needed to treat the infection.
