Could Pregnancy Symptoms With HPT Negative Be Pregnancy?

My period is 16 days late(this month may), last month(in April)it was here for 5 days and I had menorrhagia for the first time almost two weeks after I was sexually active, a week after I spotted lightly. I m having high pregnant symptoms yet I took a hpt it was negative and blood test which I was told was negative but needed to be retested( not sure as to why) Could there be a chance that I am pregnant?

Hello,

Both blood and urine HCG testing may give false negative results. The repeat blood HCG testing is done to assess if the HCG levels are rising which is indicative of pregnancy. Pelvic ultrasonography may also be needed to confirm if the HCG levels show rising trends.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
