Could Panic Attacks Be Treated With Citalopram?

I'm recently recovering from a panic attack I had a month ago. Ever since I had it which was related to stress I don't feel like myself at all. I have good days then I have bad days. I'm taking citolopram and it's been about 4-5 weeks could the medicine be making me feel this way?
I'm also gonna start my period. could that be making me feel worse also?
