Could Pain And Bleeding During Sex Be Due To Microgynon Pill?

Hi there,

Since i began taking the pill (microgynon 30) i began to experience pain during sex and also bleeding which could last up to 5 days after. Apparently this could be due to the hormone changes from this pill and it has been suggested i switch, is this correct? many thanks.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, sometimes pills do have side effects. During initial periods of starting a hormonal all these side effects will be there. Sometimes after it will resolve. If it is not and if it is disturbing your daily routine then we switch to another drug.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana Rajesh Babu, OB & GYN Specialist
