Could Delayed Periods, Nausea, Fatigue And Headaches Indicate A Pregnancy When Under Treatment For PCOS?

Hi,

I was diagnosed with PCOS last year. My OB recommended me to take Centrum Materna and had regular periods since. This month, I didn't get my period. I took a HPT, but result shows negative. However, I am experiencing nausea, sensitivity to smell, headache and tired. Could I be pregnant?

Hi,
A HPT can read the result only 3-7 days after a missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. In the current scenario, you may go for the serum beta-hCG titre estimation as it is more sensitive and specific. Your symptoms are suggestive of a very early pregnancy, but can be established only after definite confirmation. If pregnancy is confirmed, you may follow it up with a trans-vaginal sonogram to know the status of the pregnancy. Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
