Could Constant Pain In Throat And Heart Burn Be A Matter Of Concern?

I'm a 31 year old woman. I've had a constant pain in the throat for the past 4-5 months. It's getting severe day-by-day and causing problems with gulping and even drinking water. I also get heart-burns regularly these days. Have been on an antacid regularly.. but the pain hasn't subsided. No cough or cold or weight loss.. but I constantly feel like I have fever, but doesn't show in the thermo-meter. Do you think I need any medical intervention?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms that you are experiencing of throat pain, difficulty in swallowing and heartburn are all indicating towards acid reflux and you need to consult aa Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and he can advise you to get Upper G.I Endoscopy done to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms and in case of acid reflux he can advise you to take Proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole or Rabeprazole, antacid like Calcium carbonate or milk of magnesia, taking small frequent meals, available spicy and acidic foods and als avoid large meals, drink plenty of water, take more of Probiotics like Yoghurt in diet, take short walk after meals and sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet..
In case if you are overweight it can be one of the potent cause of acid reflux and you need to loose weight for it..

Hope this information helps.

Thanks and regards.
