Cold, Stinging Pain In My Left Nostril During Cold

Hi, for the pass 3 days I ve had a normal cold. I have a stuffy nose in my right nostril only, but the left nostril is perfectly clear, but when I breathe through the left nostril it feels like there s a cold air going through my nose and it stings the inside of my nose near the top. It not a very bad pain, but it is quite irritating.

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

This is a common phenomenon when one nostril is blocked another nostril will have to take the brunt. The left nostril is getting dried up because of increased breathing efforts and the airflow. You can try using saline nasal drops 3-4 times/day. Any more doubts you are welcome.

Regards
Dr. Naveen Kumar
