HELLO DOCTOR,MY NAME IS HARIKUMAR , I HAVE GOUT PROBLEMS SINCE 6 MONTHS , I HAD TAKEN TAB COLCIN FOR 2 MONTHS ,TAB XYLORIC FOR 3 MONTHS , I OFFEN GET COLD AND FEVER IF I GET COLD ALL MY JOINTS AND TOSS IS GETTING PAIN.BUT MY URIC ACID LEVEL IS WITHIN 8 MG HOW LONG SHOULD I TAKE XYLORIC ,IS THERE IS ANY CHACE OF GETTING SIDE EFFECT.

Thanks for asking.

Zyloric or allopurinol is used for the treatment of the gout in lot of cases, although it is a safe medicine but in some cases if it is taken for a long period of time in a very large dose it can cause renal dysfunction.

Check your blood urea and serum creatinine levels frequently to check for any damage to the kidneys.
