Hi,
If vaginosis has been diagnosed as the cause, you would need repeated courses of medication at least for six months and for the partner too if needed, in order to get complete relief. Repeat swabs need to be taken for follow up and for confirmation of the effectiveness of the treatment given. Please abstain from sexual intercourse until you get complete relief and maintain genital hygiene. Pap smear should be taken if it was not done earlier. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
