Dear jessjane 09 I think your daughter may have got viral infection affecting her yrars.
This age if they get ear infection they suffer with Diarrhoea and vomiting. I advise to
give her diarolyte or electrol sachet disolving one sachet in 300mls of boiled and cooled water
and continue giving fluid for 24 hours. You can buy those over the counter. Also I advise to give her paracetamol syrup 250mgm three to 4 times daily. If she is not settled after 24 hours please
consult Paeditrician to check her ears she may need antibiotic. Kindest regards Dr.S.K.Mukherjee
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your child is having acute gastroenteritis which is usually viral in nature and takes few days to settle.
Most important is to maintain hydration.
Give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool.give coconut water, lemonade, curd, boiled potato, banana.rice porridge.
In case of persistent vomiting antiemetic like domperidone is to be given in prescribed doses.
Give lactobacillus for 2 to 3 days.
Watch for features of dehydration like lethargy/decreased urine output/refusal of feeds and in case you find any get him evaluated by pediatrician for further management.
