Child Has Elevated SGPT Since Treatment For Dengue Fever. What Medicines And Precautions Should Be Taken?

Dear Doctor, My son is 10 and half years old. He was recently diagnosed as suffering from Dengue fever . He had since recovered. However his S.G.P.T is 64 and S.G.O.T is 37. His Billirubin level is 0.41. His SGPtT level has not decreased for last one month. Please advice about what medicines to take and what precaution to be taken.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

SGOT and SGPT can remain raised for some time and there is no need to worry. They shall return to normal values in due course of time and nothing needs to be done.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Regards,

RKK
