Child, Fever Reduced After Taking Taxim-oforte. Should We Go For Blood Test?
My kid (3 yr old 15 kgs) had high fever 102 f 17 days back. Doctor prescribed Augmenting dds for 6 days with calpol. Augmenting dds course was discontinued for a day after 3 days as child refused to take the bitter medicine. She would vomit out the medicine every time we tried. 7th day onwards... Doctor advised to start afresh the antibiotic course -taximo forte syrup as previous course was interrupted. We have continued taximo forte for last 7 days. Fever frequency came down from 6 hrly to 12 hrly and with lesser intensity 101f or so. For last 48 hrs... There was no fever... Today its 17th day, we checked it shows 99.5f ... There is no other symptom. Child is active otherwise and taking her normal meals. Is it a matter of worry... Should we go for blood test for malaria or typhoid?

Child, Fever Reduced After Taking Taxim-oforte. Should We Go For Blood Test?
Hi, Thanks for writing to health care magic. A child with fever of such a long duration should be investigated. But now if the fever subsides and remains within normal range then you may wait and monitor her. Get her investigated if she has further fever. Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
