Changed The Pill, Irregular Period, Clotting, Mucus Discharge. Consult Doctor?

I've been on the pill for more than a year. I recently changed types, but adjusted quickly with spotting only in the first month of my new prescription. I've never had an irregular period while I've been on the pill, but I noticed spotting two days ago, more than a week before I would have expected my period. The flow is lighter than my usual periods and hasn't increased or decreased over the past few days. I've noticed some clots and mucus-like discharge earlier today. Is this a normal symptom or should I contact my doctor?

hello
Thanks for your query.
It is normal to experience some form of erratic bleeding while on the pill, particularly while switching types .
The discharge is not very normal on pills.
You could do well to mention this to your healthcare provider, just to be on the safer side, although there is nothing to worry about.
take care.
