Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,
Good day.
It is not clear why she is undergoing radio iodine treatment. ( But looking at the fact that your thyroid medicines have been stopped for over 6 weeksm i presume it is for Thyroid cancer). Stopping Thyroxine for Radio iodine treatment as part of cancer treatment can make one develop hypothyroidism. Some people develop swelling of body and some develop nausea etc. But it is unclear why it has been stopped for such a long time. Usually we stop it for 4-6 weeks till the TSH rise to above 30. I hope an endocrinologist is supervising the treatment

Regards

Binu
