Can Smoking Weed Cause Increased Heart Rate, Anxiety Attacks And Acid Reflux?
Ok a few years ago I was smoking weed wit my friends and my heart started beating fast and I was getting paronoid like I was havinf a heart attack and I have anxiety attacks and acid reflux and I haven't smoked since can you tell me why cuz I wanna smoke but I get worried
Yes, cannabis can cause increased heart rate and panic attacks. Anxiety often is accompanied with acidity and reflux. Sometimes anxiety is very severe and debilitating, as in a panic attack, and one feels like one is having a heart attack and is about to die. In the initial stages, anxiety occurs only after cannabis intake but later it persists even when there is no cannabis in the system and becomes a full-fledged anxiety disorder. Treatment with SSRI medicines like sertraline, escitalopram etc helps. Resuming cannabis intake is likely to worsen your symptoms.
I hope this helps you. Best wishes.
