I discovered today through MRI results that I have a sever pinched sciatic nerve which will require me to see a back specialist. Until I can see one I continue to have difficult laying in bed due to the pain shooting in my ankle from it. I am tired of having to sleep in the lazy boy and not in the bed due to this condition. Is there anything I can do to help relieve this pain so that I can sleep in the bed and get a good nights sleep. I do have some pain pills but not particularly crazy about taking them. Just wondering and thanks for the help.

Hi.. Sciatic nerve pain due to compression requires surgery. you will have little amount of pain in spite of medication unless the compression is removed. Things to do- Continue bed rest. Take tab. Diclofenac 50mg twice a day. Tab. Pregabalin once a day. Tab. tryptomer is pain persists even after taking the above two medications. Avoid bending, lifting weights, squatting. Do visit spine specialist for further management. Thank you.
