Is it wise to have surface tears of the meniscus and synovial osteochondromatosis of the knee arthroscopically removed? Is it possible that in time the body will heal and rejuvenate the area? I am a 58 Year old active woman in good health. I had an MRI and saw orthopedic surgeon. My knee (right) seems to have a few things going on. Joint effusion, plus the tears in Medial and Lateral meniscus. I am a very conservative person and wonder if physical therapy, chiropractive should be done first. Or is it a waste of time and I will have to have the knee cleaned out eventually.
