Can One Be Pregnant Despite A Yeast Infection?

i had contraceptive failure while having sex on third day after my periods were over, I took an Ipill immediately. My periods are now 10 days late, i took a pregnancy test which is negative, and just realized i have a vaginal yeast infection, for which i am talking a treatment, Could i still be pregnant?

Hi,
Firstly, you were most likely in the safe period when you had the intercourse, if you have regular 28-30 day cycles. Thus, you did not need the emergency pill in the first place. Secondly, the emergency pill contains high doses of hormone and thus creates hormone disruption. This can lead to withdrawal bleeds and delayed natural cycles. Above all, vaginitis can also cause irregularity. Pregnancy can happen even with vaginitis, but, is not likely in your case. Please see a specialist for a proper evaluation. Take care.
