Can Not Bear Weight On Knees After An Injury. Steroid Injection Taken. X-ray Normal. Bruised Knee Cap?

2 weeks ago my L knee got struck by full shopping cart coming around store corner. I tried to turn quick but got hit hard. Since then I cannot bear weight. My ortho dr gave me steroid injection. Knee has been as bad or worse at times. NO BETTER. He ordered an MRI. About time. It is bruised on knee cap itself but pain was ineterior not exterior. Xray of course showed nothing.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the knee on weight bearing can be due to a bone injury in the area. It is best to get an MRI scan of the knee joint done to assess any damage to the internal knee joint structures.
