Can Nerve Entrapment Cause Radiating Pain From Thighs To Both Legs?

My father is 75 and fell on the patio 5 weeks and bruised his buttocks. since then, he has had severe front thigh pain when standing that moves down both legs and then after standing awhile, the pain is in the calves. The legs are very tired and weak as if you were on a stairmaster for hours. He has been in the hospital for 4 days now, no one can come up with an diagnosis, and after being in bed for that long, has also lost his upper body strength. Any idea what this can be? Lumbar xrays were taken today, hoping that will show something. Do you think this might be some type of neurological syndrome or anti immune disease, or nerve entrapment ? Thanks for your help

hello,
I restate your complaints as
1) pain in front of thighs, sometimes involving whole of the legs.
2) History of fall on buttocks

well, considering his high age and the above events, it appears most likely a trauma to the spine.
An MRI spine and XRay spine will help to rule out both the physical and immunologic condition.
For auto immune conditions, they generally present well early in life at young age, therefore unlikely. Intervertebral disc prolapse is very likely. An MRI lower lat lumbar spine can confirm it.

hope to have satisfied your query.
