Can Mirena Outpower The Effects Of Lamictal And Cause Seizures?

I am a 27 year old female and I was wondering if Mirena has anything to do with my seizures occurring frequently or should I say every month around my menstrual cycle. I am on the medication Lamictal and I have been for 9 years now. In 2007 I had an IUD put in (Mirena) and now every month before my cycle and after my cycle I have a seizure. I take 200mg twice a day. So, does Mirena outpower my medication which is causing me to have seizures?

Hello,

Mirena will not affect Lamictal's activity. If seizures are recurrent, you need to reevaluate the dosage and combinations of anti-seizure medications you are currently taking.
