Can Loss Of Blood Flow To Ear And Brain Causes Deafness After Pneumonia?

i woke up deaf in my right ear Sunday morning. I went to an ENT yesterday and he said I may or may not get just some of the hearing back. He said it could be from a viral infection when I had pneumonia back in October, loss of blood flow to my ear or a brain tumor. Do you agree with this?

Hi,
Your condition is called sudden sensorineural hearing loss and there is a big list of causes for that.
It could be viral, vascular, autoimmune or could be idiopathic too, which means the cause is unknown.
There are chances that it could correct by itself. But it may remain the same or worsen too.
Sadly, there is no approved treatment for the same. Some doctors try intratympanic or perenteral steroids, but treatment still not approved. Hyperbaric oxygen is also given as another mode of treatment.
