Brief Answer:
No single sign or test is sufficient about autism.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Early signs of autism spectrum disorder ( first two years ) include:

1. Social interaction impairment ( the child does not respond to his/her name, doesn't show objects to people, copies what he/she sees or hears from others or TV, doesn't understand simple instructions).

2. Nonverbal communications (doesn't smile to caregivers, doesn't use gestures on his own, doesn't use eye contact to get someone’s attention ).

3. Relationships and play (doesn’t start games, doesn't show interest in other children).

4. Restricted interests (shows interest in certain objects, interacts with toys and objects in only one way,

5. Repetitive movements (the child repeats body movements).

6. Sensory sensitivities (is extremely sensitive to sensory experiences, seeks sensory stimulations), etc.

Just one of these changes doesn't mean that the child is autistic.

There is no single test or single sign to diagnose autism spectrum disorder, multidisciplinary assessment is necessary ( evaluation by a pediatrician or child psychiatrist, a psychologist and a speech pathologist ).

If in doubt get an opinion from appropriate specialists.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
I don't think it is autism.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Just that problem doesn't mean that autism is the diagnosis.

Generally the dysfunction includes more fields of behavior such those mentioned in our previous conversation.

If in doubt, consider consulting appropriate specialists.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
please upload/Post the test results here.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

As I mentioned before, not a single test or single symptom is diagnostic for autism.

In psychophysiological testing auditory over selectivity may be seen, sp please upload/post the test results in order for me to get a correct understanding and to give you a specific answer.

Awaiting...

Brief Answer:
Brain MRI is necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry (or BERA) is mainly used for the evaluation of the hearing threshold and diagnosing retrocochlear lesions, it is not a typical test for autism.

In the test you uploaded is seen an asymmetry between two sides, in such case, a brain MRI is necessary to understand better the diagnosis.

Hope I helped you.

In good health.

I took his report n shown to neurologist she didn't check my baby .He was hyper active going here n there by seeing that she's saying autism .How hyper active alone confirms autism
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Hyperactivity alone doesn't confirm autism.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

As I mentioned previously no single test or symptom may be diagnostic about autism.

I think other causes of hearing impairment should be evaluated and excluded first and a brain MRI is necessary for this purpose.

Multidisciplinary evaluation is necessary to diagnose autism.

Hope I helped you so far.

Kind regards.
