Can I Take Antibiotics Along With Contraceptive Pills?
Hi There,
I recently got Levonelle emergency contraception and I am wondering if the success of this working is affected by me taking Tetralysal lymecycline tablets. My doctor never asked with regards to antibiotics and this is something which has now just crossed my mind.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Contraceptive pills interact with antibiotics like Rifampicin and Metrogyl. In your case, you are on Lymecycline and pills won’t react with Lymecycline and doesn’t cause any contraceptive failure.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks.
