Can Hypothyroidism In The Family Causes Lump In The Throat?

Hello. I have a small lump on the right side of throat. Appears to be located on the thyroid. Blood test suggests to be normal TSH level. It is 1.6. I am not convinced that is normal. Hypothyroidism is prominent in my family. Could you give me some insight to a cause for the lump? Thanks!

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your thyroid hormone level is normal so no need to worry about that.
You may have colloid nodular, multinodular goiter, adenomatous goiter or some thyroid malignancy like follicular or papillary carcinoma. You should go for Fine needle aspiration cytology and ultrasound examination of neck. It will give you exact diagnosis. Then you take treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you.
