Can Hormonal Contraceptive, Marvelon, Cause Acne? Will This Subside Eventually?

I'm 36, 5'2" and just over 10stone. I've been on microgynon 30 for over a decade. On advice from my doctor after a recent smear test, I recently switched to marvelon. I am now experiencing a bout of acne which I have never suffered from before. Is this due to the change in hormone levels of the different pills? Should it calm down after a few months of use? Thanks.

I think that marvelon can have these side effects. Also, I would suggest a thyroid profile test.
