Can Duphaston And Adova Increase The Chance Of Pregnancy?
I am Swati Banerjee,29 yrs. I have PCOS and trying to conceive since last six months. Dr. has prescribed me adova from day 3 to day 5 of my periods and duphaston from day 16 to day 25, for 2 months, and tvs follicular study in d 3rd month I have regular periods but only for 1 or 2 days. I want to know that is my dr. going correct in my treatment ?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a treatable disorder which would cause infertility. There would be increase in chances of conceiving when there are medications used to see that ovulation happens at right time and the periods are happening regularly. Adova contains the Anastrozole as active ingredient. It acts by blocking the synthesis of hormone estrogen and other related substances. Duphaston tablets contain dydrogesterone, which is a synthetic progesterone. These medications would help to counter excess estrogen and help to provide suitable environment for the fertilized egg to get implant, thus improving the chances of conceiving.
