Can Continuous Use Of Laptop Cause Epilepsy?

Hi, I recieved a laptop as a gift, christmas 2009. 3 months later I had my first seizure. I was soon diagnosed with epilepsy. My family have all tried to use my laptop and it gives them a headache. I have used other laptops and have had no problems. Could this be the cause of my epilepsy

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms. The onset of seizure, three months after starting the use of laptop is co-incidental and laptop is not the cause of your seizures.

Even the headaches in your other family members are probably not related to laptop use alone.

However, if the screen is very bright, or if you sleep less, then, seizures or headaches can be precipitated.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Best wishes,
