Can Coli Cause Headache, bleeding And Night Sweats?

Hi, I had the coil fitted on the 1st of Feb 2011. I had some endometriosis on one of my ovaries. Since then i have been feeling awful. I have really bad headaches every day,I have been bleeding most of the time a mixture of light and very heavy, i feel tired, tearful, very moody, night sweats, leg cramps and pain in my legs. I have also put weight on that i cannot get rid of. My doctor says its nothing to do with the coil but is unsure what is wrong. I really don't know what do. I have had trouble in the past taking the pill, the mini pill and the injection. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello,

You have a coil and presently are feeling moody, having night sweats and pain in the legs. You are having a mixture of heavy and light bleeding. You have a history of endometriosis. Coil does have side effects but it varies from person to person. Not all experience side effects.

In some, Mirena coils do cause headache, it may cause restlessness and night sweats. You are suggested to get tested for menopause and thyroid conditions as well as it may cause similar symptoms that you have been experiencing. The symptoms also depend on the type of coil you have been using, copper IUD can cause heavier periods and make cramps worse, unlike hormonal forms of birth control.

Since you are have endometriosis, bleeding can be heavy. If you are having a lot of discomfort you can talk to your gynecologist or health care provider and get the coil removed. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get USG (Uterus) done to confirm endometriosis and fibroid so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
