Can Appendectomy During First Trimester Of Pregnancy Be Risky?

iju st found out that a friend of a friend is 3month pregnancy,the just told her that she had appendectomy and the doctor want to give a operation;but she said no the operation would out the baby at risk..now if she dont have a operation she will be at risk to right.

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion any non.emergency procedure is planned in 2nd trimester.But for emergency conditions like appendicitis and when there is definitive indication for surgery it is good to opt for surgery because mother be at risk if not done.Its not for sure that it might be aborted if gone for surgery in first trimester but there are more chances for abortion. dont worry.
