Question: About a week ago I had my appendix removed. When i was sitting outside my ankle became itchy and i noticed a black widow less than a foot away. Was i bit?

Since there is a bite with red elevated skin and there is itching and you have seen black widow nearby, this may be taken as spider bite.

In the meantime, clean the area with soap water, apply ice to the area and an antibiotic cream locally.
