Firstly I would like to explain about Itraconazole, from the class of azole antifungal, which is a drug for treating fungal infection. it s true that one of the side effects from itraconazole can develop abnormal liver function test results. it occurred in 1% to 7% of patients receiving continuous therapy. the normal range of ALT is 7-56 u/L (varies depend on laboratories), so your results after consuming itraconazole were high. elevated liver enzymes possibly can show us the liver injury, it may induced by itraconazole. if I were your treating doctor, I would suggest monitoring the liver function closely. you have to concern if the sign/symptom of liver disease develop, such as elevated ALT/AST, jaundice, elevated bilirubin. please contact your local doctor directly, if you notice these signs/symptoms: dark urine, loss of appetite, pale stools, severe stomach pain, unusual tiredness, severe nausea or vomiting, or yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice). it may associates with fatal liver problem. your doctor will discontinue giving itraconazole or just adjust the dose. please do not drink alcohol since it can worsen its side effect.
