I am 21 and was diagnosed with HPV (level 1) in september 2011. I am also taking birth control and have had regular periods. Yet this month my period is brown thick and non-abundant. Is there a chance the abnormal cells have developed to a higher grade?

no, hpv is causative organisms for genital warts. it has nothing to do with thick brown period. hpv infection is usually present with warts in the genital area which is non painful. it is believe to have malignant potential. causative agent in some type of carcinoma cerivx.
