Can Cefixime Taking For Bladder Infection Cause Heart Rate To Jump?

my heart rate jumps to 135 and will drop only to rise again. I have been taking a medication for bladder infection which really upset me including bad diarrhea. I ONLY TOOK THREE PILLSAND HAD TO STOP COULD THIS MEDICATION CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. THE MEDICATION IS CALLED CEFIXIME

Drug cefixime do not have any side effects which could rise your heart rate.

It could cause diarrhea as a side effect in little number of patients. it is due to growth of unwanted bacteria while on the antibiotics. Loss of fluids through diarrhea may cause temporary raise in heart rate.

If the diarrhea is severe and associated with bloody stools, it is highly suggestible to meet your physician to have further blood work up. If diarrhea is mild, no need of stopping the medication. Take plenty of water and ORS packet.
