Burning In Right Side, Done Cat Scan And Ultrasound Nothing Found. Suggestion?

For months now I have had a burning feeling in my right side...feels like something is burning through my flesh when I lay on that side. I have had a cat scan and an ultrasound done and they haven't seen anything they are concerned with. It's very frustrating because this can't be normal and something I should just have to live with. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi ! Good morning. You have not mentioned about the duration of your symptoms. If it is a recent one, this could be due to a herpes zoster infection of the nerves of that side of abdomen. This may cause severe pain and burning, the diagnosis is confirmed by seeing the eruptions on the skin after some days.
In that case you have to consult a dermatologist who may prescribe some systemic and local anti viral drugs for you.

Till that you can go for some anti inflammatory drugs which will relieve your symptoms. Sometimes such undiagnosed symptoms are also treated with anti depressants, which work magic in these cases.
