Bleeding After Changing Tampon. Had Pap Smear. Is This Menopausal?

I have been on vacation for two weeks and started my period. My history is change a super tampon 2 times a day. Tonight, since i went to bed 5 hours ago, I have changed my tampon( a extra super tampon) 3 times and I'm still bleed onto the towel I have between my legs. When I sit on the toilet it just falls right out. (Sorry for being so graphic). I just want you to understand that I usually have to tug at it to get it out. My mother has passed away and can't ask her. Unfortunately I have not had a Pap smear in 1 1/2 years. My dr moved an hour away from me and have not found another dr. Should I be concerned because I'm sure thesis menopause.....however what can I do to slow down the bleeding so I can still enjoy my vacation? WWW.WWWW.WW

Hello ma'am.

You have failed to mention your age, without which it is not possible to assume menopause to be the cause for the same. There are various conditions which can cause a heavy menstrual bleed like endometriosis, uterine fibroids, polyps, etc.

For this reason I would request to assume this to be pre-menopausal symptoms and go ahead with a hormone level check and a transvaginal ultrasound scan.

As for the period, you can meet any local doctor and initiate a course of hormonal medications to stop your period(if this is indeed your period) and discontinue the medication when you are ready to have your period (i.e. most probably at the end of your vacation). This is a prescription drug and so I will not be able to prescribe it online.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
