Belly Button Area Is Tender And Sore After Laparoscopic Hysterectomy. Is It Normal ?

Hello, I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 2 weeks ago - just the uterus, nothing else. Everything went fine...but the last couple of days my belly button area is tender and sore...is that part of the normal healing process? I have been up and about - perhaps I've been overdoing it? I am 42 years old and otherwise in good health.

Hi !

From your history it appears that the symptoms you are experiencing are part of normal wound healing process. You need to be concerned if there is any kind of discharge from the wound or if you develop fever. Keep the wound area dry.

Hope i have clarified your doubts
