Baldness At An Early Age. Want To Improve Hair Growth. Advice?

I had a lot of hair genetically and there is no bald people in the family.

But when I was like 12, In an era I was very nervous and I started this weired habit of playing with my hair in front of my head and taking them off. (I quit this habit in one or two months) and I think I took the hair origin off too because I remember that there was like a white little thing at the end of the hair. I did that in the size of a medium plate in front of my head. After that I became partly bald in the front of my head. I thought my hair would grow again, But it never did. And it really annoys me. I mean I'm really young and this is frustrating for me. and now, after like 4 years, I seriously decided to fix this problem cause I'm a teenager and it really affects my life.

This is the hair of a family member whose hair looks just like me (How I want my hair to be again):

And this is my hair right now:

As you can see, our hairs our like each others, except for the top. I lost so much hair on the top and it doesn't look good at all.

A friend of mine told me that my hair could become normal again with putting rosemary juice on the parts with the problem and massage it softly two times a day and in a month my hair will go back to normal again. I said how is rosemary going to help if I took off the follicles? and he said It is impossible to take off hair follicles with hands. But then again, If I didn't take off the follicles, why didn't it regrow in this 4 years?

This means a lot to me people, And affects my life a lot. So I would really appreciate it if you could share your opinion and Solution and help me. Thanks a lot.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Thanks for posting the qwery. Some people have the habit of plucking scalp hairs and the problem becomes chronic known as trichotillomania. Proper dermatological evaluation of the scalp condition is required. If that is non scarring alopecia or hair loss, lost hairs can come back with proper medications like local steroidal applications and or topical minoxidil application.
Needn't worry and consult a dermatologist.

Thanks

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hello and Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for writing to us.
Management includes:
1. Treating the underlying cause
2. Avoidance of stress
3. Dietary modifications
4. Minoxidil solution to be applied locally to stimulate the hair follicles.
5. Multivitamin & multi mineral supplementation
But these medications have to be used regularly under the guidance of a Dermatologist, as hair losstends to return on stoppage of these medications.
So, it will be better to consult a Dermatologist to find out the underlying cause & start treatment accordingly.
There is no need to worry.
Your hairs will grow back again.
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...
